Cornstarch foam is a renewable alternative to styrofoam. It performs comparably to polystyrene foam (EPS) both in drop tests and thermal insulation. Keeps products under 45°F for at least 48 hours in summer conditions, with refrigerants.
Cornstarch foam dissolves in water. It's also certified compostable at home or via dropoff at industrial facilities. Available with paper wrap, or LDPE film wrap that is easily removed and can be recycled wherever #4 plastic bags are accepted.
