Rotogravure is most often used for printing on flexible materials, like LDPE for poly mailers and laminated films for pouches. Rotogravure’s metal print cylinders can produce highly detailed designs with small text and photography.
Tooling costs are higher than other print processes because of the materials and setup required.
In the US, rotogravure tooling is more rare and often pricier than other print processes. In Asia, there are more affordable options.
