Tyvek is a water resistant alternative to paper and it stands out with its paper-like appearance, but this texture can be misleading. Tyvek is made from a 100% virgin plastic. Tyvek cannot be recycled in the standard plastic stream. It has to be sent back to Dupont, the material manufacturer. If sustainability is a priority, choose a material that is curbside recyclable, like kraft paper.
Lightweight
Tear proof
Water resistant
Unique texture
No recycled content, made from 100% virgin plastic
The papery feel of this plastic material can lead to consumers incorrectly recycling, sending it to the paper recycling stream.
Not easily recyclable: only recyclable by mailing to the material manufacturer, Dupont.
