Stand up pouches are durable and easy to zip shut in fulfillment. They can be sealed with an impulse heat sealer, and opened with an easy-rip notch. The heat seal creates the feeling of added freshness when it gets to the customer.
When comparing the material options for compostable plastics, PHA is entirely bio-based, while PLA/PBAT is bio-based with fossil fuel derived additives. Both can be home compostable, but verify credible compostability certificates with your supplier.
